Abstract

In the context of mental disorders, the transition from adolescence to adulthood is associated with special challenges for those affected and often leads to treatment discontinuations with the risk of severe and chronic courses of the disease. While this topic has been dealt with in a differentiated manner by the professional and scientific community for more than a decade, there is still a lack of systematic services in standard care. One reason for this may be the lack of practical and comprehensible criteria or requirements, especially for inpatient transition services. The psychiatric societies DGPPN and DGKJP have therefore developed transition criteria that describe the target group, structural quality to be required as well as financing aspects for the inpatient sector and criteria for outpatient transition treatment.
