Abstract
Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy is not currently the standard procedure for removing kidney tumors less than 4 cm, in contrast to laparoscopic radical nephrectomy for treatment of T1-2 malignant renal tumors. Based on PubMed analysis and data from our department, we present a review of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy as an oncologically correct operative procedure with only a few complications and as an alternative to open partial nephrectomy in the spectrum of organ-sparing kidney tumor surgery.
